Technical Explanation
Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) sends high-frequency radio waves into the ground and records the echoes to create profiles of subsurface features. When done on roadways, traffic management measures (like lane closures and safety cones) are implemented to protect both surveyors and motorists.
Main requirements
Required for non-invasive underground surveys (locating utilities, voids, etc.) especially under roads. Needs a safe work zone (permits & traffic control plans) so that GPR crews can scan pavement without hazards, typically done during off-peak hours for minimal disruption.
